It can be daunting picking up the phone to ask for help, but here at FTCT, we want to make applying for a grant as easy as possible. Don’t forget, we are here to help you. Lots of parents who were worried about calling us have said they were so glad they did! Here’s what they’ve told us:

“I’m so glad I made the call .I spent years feeling ashamed, not knowing charities like FTCT are out there that care and are only too happy to help families like us.” Maya, mother of Jada, former employee at Sainsbury’s.

“Don’t be afraid, just give FTCT a ring for a chat.” Happy parent of John.

As a small team of five, you will always get the one-to-one support you need. Dora, our grants coordinator, will be on hand to help you every step of the way and keep you updated throughout the application process. So, how do you get started?

Step 1: Give us a call on our free phone number 0300 123 9002 (mobiles are charged at the standard network rate) or complete our enquiry form online. Dora will talk to you in confidence about your child’s needs and will let you know if we can take your application further. If we’re not the right charity for you, we will always signpost you to other organisations that may be able to help.

Step 2: Dora will send an application form to you. Once you have received the application, just complete the form and return it to us with the supporting evidence to show the need for your child.

There is no deadline to complete the application form – we understand it may take time – but if you get stuck at any point Dora is just at the end of the phone and will be more than happy to help.

Step 3: Once we have received your application form, we will create a ‘case’ on your behalf and send it through to our cases team, who will respond with a decision within 14 working days of receipt. Once a decision has been made, Dora will give you a call and talk you through the next steps.
