“Don't be afraid to ask for help as the help doesn't come with judgement. The lovely people at FTCT are incredible with guidance and they are all very understanding."

Courtney, Reese's Mum.

At the tender age of two, Reese was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and began intensive treatment. To cope, Mum Courtney put her career at Sainsbury’s on hold to take care of him. With the drop in income, came the worry of providing everything Reese needed. When Courtney reached out and applied for a grant, we were delighted to help.

“At the time of applying, Reese was struggling with weigh loss due to chemotherapy and then sudden weight gain due to steroid (for his treatment). In a short amount of time, Reese’s needed lots of clothing in different sizes and we were struggling to buy everything he needed to keep him comfortable.”

“I heard about the FTCT through the charity Young Lives Versus Cancer. I used my work from Sainsburys to apply for a grant.”

“The grant really helped! Reese had also out grown his cot so needed to move to a new bigger sized bed and the grant also helped with that too. He is very happy with his new clothing and bed.”

Courtney had this advice for other parents thinking f applying for an FTCT grant, “Don't be afraid to ask for help as the help doesn't come with judgement. The lovely people at FTCT are incredible with guidance and they are all very understanding. The process is very easy and can give you the support you need.”
