A huge good luck to Mark Newton-Jones (pictured top row far left) who set sail last Sunday, 24 November, in the biggest trans- ocean sailing race in the world, the ARC to raise money the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust. Watch a special video with Mark, talking about his challenge, here>
Setting sail from Gran Canaria, Mark and crew, comprising of 10 novices and 2 trained crew members, will be at sea for approximately 17 days to cover the 2,800 nautical mile course. During this time, they’ll be battling the elements, to beat 40 other boats, all taking part in the challenge.
We caught up with Mark before he left, who told us, “I’m looking to raise as much as possible for the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust and would be delighted if you could sponsor me per mile .. all 2,800 of them by whatever amount you are able to. Please be as generous as you can! Your generosity to support the hard work of this great charity is greatly appreciated.”
