Building links with the Fashion & Textile Museum

As you may have been reading in previous blogs, we’ve been meeting with lots of high street fashion retailers to launch our outreach campaign, but at the same time, starting to reach out to other communities in the fashion and textile sector, who we could be supporting. This week, I met with Morag and Alison at the Fashion and Textile Museum, in Bermondsey, London; a fabulous museum for contemporary fashion, textiles and jewellery, founded by iconic British designer Zandra Rhodes. I first came across this museum over a year ago and on every visit have been inspired both by the exhibitions and the staff who work there. As well as exhibitions, they run a wide range of fashion related courses for adults and children too. We are at the very early stages of our potential partnership, however we’re delighted that our FTCT promotional leaflets are already on display in the visitors reception area and are really excited about the possible links we can build to promote our charity to the visitors and members of FTM. If you know a charity, museum or fashion or textile community group or organisation that could display or distribute our flyer or possibly include our web banners on their site, please get in touch with us – we’d love to hear from you.
