Fare Share ‘shares with’ Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust

After an inspiring meeting with Lindsay Boswell, CEO, (as pictured) Fare Share this morning, the links between Jill’s blog post yesterday about welfare cuts and this one today, bring home the need for our charity to be acutely aware of reaching families and children who need our support, for basic items such as food and clothing.
Based in Deptford and 17 other depots across the UK, Fare Share aims to distribute fresh food and fruit to charities and community groups across the UK, who are working with disadvantaged people. The food is surplus ‘fit for purpose’ product from the food and drink industry and includes contributions from Sainsbury’s, Tesco’s and Marks & Spencers. Fare Share distributes 9 – 10 million meals per year, feeding 36,000 people a day.
Through our partnership with Fare Share, and the possibility of including our own charity’s information packs with the food crates sent to charities, (some of whom we are also working with), we hope to be able to raise awareness of the support we can give.
