Fourth Leicester leg of the regional hotspot trail

Last week, Anna and I were back in Leicester for the fourth leg of our regional hotspot campaign, working with businesses and charities in the city. This was a particularly special visit for us; we were very privileged to meet Dan and his little boy Kenny, who we have recently supported with a grant as a direct result of the campaign.
Dan works as a team leader at fashion retailer Boden’s Leicester warehouse. Dan found out about FTCT through his HR manager Louise (pictured), who thought we might be able to help Dan’s son Kenny. Read next week’s FTCT blog post, to hear Kenny’s full story.
It was so lovely to meet Dan, Louise and their colleague Bev, to talk more about the support FTCT can give to employees at Boden. Posters will be put up around the site and employees are encouraged to approach members of the HR team, to find out about possible support.
After lunch we headed over to meet the team of support workers at the Beaumont Leas Star office. Star (supporting tenants and residents) is a housing-related support service for people living in Leicester and with more than 6 offices across the city, their teams work directly with families in need of a helping hand. The team enthused by news of our grants and have kept the phone busy all week, with enquiries on behalf of their clients.
Our next visit to Leicester is planned for 1st-3rd October, so if you are a community organisation working in Leicester, we would love to pay you a visit. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0300 123 9002 to find out more.
