This week marked the start of a FTCT is named charity for BITA Spring Showcase-March 2012.new partnership for FTCT within the world of interior textiles. Anna and I met with the wonderful Diane Harding from BITA (British Interior Textile Association), at the first BITA Spring Showcase of the season. This is a series of 7 UK interior textile trade shows which FTCT will become increasingly involved with over the coming year, after being named chosen charity for 2012-2013.

BITA is a trade association for the UK interior textiles industry, with members ranging from small to large scale manufacturers across all aspects of the interiors industry; from bespoke bedding to furniture and fabrics to ready-made curtains and bath mats.

Twice a year BITA hosts a roadshow event; 7 trade shows in 7 towns across the UK, for its members to sell their designs. Visitors to the shows include independent retailers, interior designers, soft furnishing manufacturers and individual designer makers.

Each year BITA selects a chosen charity to benefit from sales of its BITA Directory, a comprehensive guide to its members. This year we are delighted that BITA’s committee have chosen FTCT! With more than 3,000 copies distributed worldwide, BITA’s Diane Harding (pictured), is hoping to raise at least £1,000 for FTCT throughout 2012-2013.

By naming FTCT as chosen charity for 2013, not only are BITA making a generous financial contribution towards our charity, but they are opening the door to hundreds of companies from across the world of interiors textiles, whose employees may be eligible to apply for a grant to help their child.

It was lovely to meet Dianne and the team from BITA who have made this possible and to spend time talking to exhibitors on their stands, explaing why FTCT could be of significance for their staff. Thank you to Diane and also Adam Mansell from UKFT for making this possible!

If you know of anyone working in the UK interior textiles industry whose child may need our help, please contact us today…
