If you are aged 16-18years and need extra financial support for your college course, we may be able to help. Our grants start at £150 and can provide funding for costs including bus fare, extra-curricular activities, specialist tutorial support and more.
FTCT helps children aged 0-18 years whose parents have a trade connection to the UK fashion and textile industry, including womenswear, menswear, soft furnishings and interiors. This could mean they either work or have previously worked in a factory, high street fashion shop, or a supermarket which sells clothing. The easiest way to find out if you are eligible for a grant, is to call Emma our grants co-ordinator on 0300 123 9002 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Meet Cassie, 17 years, who we supported with a grant towards her college bus fare:
Cassie, 17, was adopted by her grandmother Tricia at the age of 2 years old, after a traumatic young life with her biological mother.
At the time, FTCT supported Cassie and Tricia with a welfare grant for clothes and furniture, after Tricia, who has worked as a fashion designer since the 1960’s, was unable to get any of Cassie’s belongings from her biological mother.
Since then Cassie has thrived Cassie and Tricia still need a helping hand from time to time, which is why FTCT recently funded bus pass to get Cassie to and from college, where she is studying a B-tech in Textiles.
