Jasmine, Grace & Lexi’s story

It’s always a privilege to share the stories of families who’ve benefited from our grants. Thank you to Jasmine* for talking about her experience, showing that FTCT grants can be a practical and simple solution during a tight financial spot.

Jasmine owns her own bridal boutique and Beds cropppedis mum to Grace* (10) and Lexi* (4). Jasmine found out about FTCT on Facebook. The family were given a grant towards bunk-beds for the girls.

“At the time money was tight. The girls had been sharing a double bed, but it broke and the washing machine had too. Both my husband and I are self-employed and our wages are low, so were struggling to make ends meet.”

“I felt nervous and uncomfortable about approaching FTCT, but the team were very reassuring. My mind was put at rest once I made the first phone call, it was a weight off my mind.”

“The grant has made a huge difference to family life. The girls are really over the moon and it has  been lovely for the girls to each have their own bed (pictured). When the beds arrived, the girls stayed in their room for hours on end!”

“If we hadn’t received the grant, the girls would probably still be waiting. We might have had to borrow money or spend on the credit card, but we really didn’t want to get into more debt.”

“To any parents thinking of applying, just give FTCT a call. Speaking to them will put you at ease. Lots of families are in the same situation. It is an amazing organisation and the team are very approachable.”
