Luke Roper 2013 ‘Golf Fes’ supports FTCT
This week, we were back at Calderfields Golf and Country club in Walsall, for the Luke Roper Golf Day & Night, held in support of the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust. This year’s theme was ‘Golf Fes’, a mixing pot of golf (crazy golf at times), live music and entertainment. Many celebrities, customers and friends of Luke came down to support, with 140 golfers taking part throughout the day.
Famous faces on the course included Hollywood actor Stephen Graham, football stars Dean Ashton, Chris Drake, Mark Bright, Dion Dublin, George Graham, Matt Banahan, Shaun Perry, Frank McLintock, Paul Jones, Sam Aston, Andrew Whyment and BBC sports pundit Manish Bhasin, all of whom were really keen to know more about the work of our charity.
Day turned to night and with the drinks flowing, guests tried their luck at the pop-up casino, raising £1,000 for FTCT! These funds will make such a difference to the lives of the children and young people we support. £1,000 could help to provide specialist adaptions to the home of a child like Michael* coping with cerebral palsy, or clothing and essential items for a child like Harry*, whose family have run in to financial difficulty.
It was a really fun day, celebrating both the Luke Roper Golf brand and FTCT. We would like to say a huge thank you to Luke Roper, Simon Poole and FTCT Chairman David Carter-Johnson, for all their support, involving FTCT as chosen charity for the event.
