Meet Colin Evans, FTCT’s longest standing Trustee!
As part of our on-going successful series of FTCT team blog posts, giving you the chance to meet the faces behind the charity, here is the fourth of our fabulous FTCT Trustees blog posts, this week featuring, Colin Evans who is FTCT’s longest standing Trustee, after joining the board over 15 years ago!
Recently, Colin popped into the FTCT offices, to spend the morning with the team and find out more about daily life for the FTCT team. We grabbed the opportunity to ask Colin his opinion on FTCT’s new look and find out, in his own words, what makes him proud to be one of our FTCT Trustees. Take it away Colin…
What inspired you to join the board of FTCT Trustees?
I’ve always been a big believer that enabling children and young people to gain access to education, is the key to improving their life’s chances. So when I heard there was a charity doing exactly that for families in this industry, I jumped at the chance to get involved.
Having been a Trustee for over 15 years, you must have enjoyed seeing FTCT through many changes. What do you think of the new-look FTCT and what do you hope for the charity’s future?
I think the new-look FTCT is terrific! It’s very modern and has a strong brand image, which reflects the industry, today. I am delighted with how the trust’s profile has dramatically increased over the last 3 years. Very few people had ever heard of T.I.C.T, so it’s a joy to hear more and more people talking about the charity.
Why do you think it is so important for the industry to support FTCT?
FTCT really is a charity of the industry, for the industry and that’s what makes us so unique. Unless companies get on board with FTCT, there won’t be a charity. We need people in the industry to really get behind the charity and influence the industry, to support FTCT.
What one thing would you say to anyone out there in the industry who is thinking of supporting FTCT?
Don’t stand on the sidelines, get on board…FTCT needs you!
And of course, we couldn’t let Colin leave without asking the obligatory, ‘funny fact’ question. That burning question you all wanted to know….What is your favortie biscuit?
Doves Digestives! I have two of them every morning with a cup of coffee!
We would like to say a huge thank you to Colin, for taking the time to write this unique blog post, just for you, our readers!
