Meet Karen, FTCT’s new Grants Co-ordinator…

Friday, January 4th, 2013 | Posted in Blog

Last month, we brought you news about the sad departure of Francesca Allwright, FTCT’s Grants Co-ordinator. Well, we are delighted to announce Francesca’s replacement, Karen, who started this week.

We thought a lovely way to introduce Karen to you, would be through her very own guest FTCT blog post. Take it away Karen …

In 10 words or less, tell us what you do at FTCT.….
Talking to families, helping them get the grants they need.

What makes you passionate about FTCT?
When I saw the position available at FTCT and read all about the charity and how they benefit families, I could not believe I had never heard of them before. I was excited to apply and ecstatic to find I had been successful in becoming the new Grants Co-ordinator.

What is the best part of your job?
The best part is to know that all in the team are working towards a higher awareness of the charity and to ultimately make a huge difference to the families who are struggling for whatever reason.

… and finally, if you were only able to take one item to a deserted island, what would that be? I would take my iPod to listen to music, my favourites being Al Green and Florence and The Machine.

We wish Karen every success in her new role!

Karen works part time at FTCT, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and is ready to take calls from parents or carers who may need support for their child. Please ring us on 0300 123 9002 or email  We’re here to help YOU.
