Harrogate at BBEH, Jill took the FTCT stand to the BITA September Showcase in Bristol, Nottingham and Harrogate, to raise awareness of FTCT among visitors and exhibitors from the interior textile trade. As the chosen charity for 2012-2013, we were thrilled to be back.

Here’s how the FTCT stand looked at the Harrogate show

BITA is a trade association for the UK interior textiles industry, covering all aspects of the interiors industry; from bespoke bedding to furniture and fabrics to ready-made curtains and bath mats.

Twice a year BITA hosts a roadshow event; 7 trade shows in 7 towns across the UK, for its members to sell their designs, to independent retailers, interior designers, soft furnishing manufacturers and individual designer makers.

Our main aim for the shows was to make sure that no visitor or exhibitor left without an FTCT button badge card in their hand and the name Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust in their head. We spoke to over 220 visitors at the show and the FTCT button badge fast became the must have fashion accessory of the BITA season!

We were overwhelmed with the welcome we received at the show. Infact, FTCT created quite a buzz. Everyone was intrigued to find out that a charity existed solely for their industry. One exhibitor, Sarah from Edmund Bell, commented, “I’ve worked in the industry for 20 years and I’ve never heard of FTCT!”.

Hearing comments like Sarah’s affirms why it is so important for FTCT to continue raising industry awareness of the charity, by exhibiting at tradeshows like BITA.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful, Diane Harding, for all she has done to make FTCT a part of the BITA showcase family. A special mention also goes to David, Simon and Richard from the BITA front of house team for their support throughout the show.

We can’t wait to be back at BITA again, next March, taking the FTCT stand to more locations around the UK, for the BITA Spring showcase.
