One day to go before the big race!
On Sunday our six wonderful – and now very fit – runners will be bravely sprinting 26 miles in the London Marathon 2015. Jim Shearer, whose son Louie was a FTCT beneficiary; Bobby Reid and Yasemin Green from Topman; Sam Watts from Selfridges; and FTCT trustee Amit Chowdhury and his lovely friend Rebecca Balfour have been working up a sweat for the last 6 months in preparation while tirelessly raising money in aid of children whose parents work in the UK fashion and textile industry.
The FTCT team will be cheering them on from the sidelines, standing next to our FTCT pink button flag next to (or near) Bermondsey tube station. If you’re out to see the marathon, come over and say hello to us!
Watching the news this morning, it seems the weather is playing tricks on us again this weekend. So remember to wear a coat and don’t forget your umbrella, as there’s a chance of showers and 15-25mph wind!
Oh well, there’s still time to sponsor our runners! All funds raised go towards supporting the education and wellbeing of children whose parents work in the UK fashion and textile industry.
See how an FTCT grant has helped children we have supported.
If you would like to get involved, get fit and take part in a fun run for FTCT, see a list of upcoming events here (don’t worry they are all between 5 to 10k at most!) Or if running isn’t your thing, why not organise your own event? Hear from one of our fundraisers to see what is it like to fundraise for us, and be inspired by our handy fundraising ideas.
