School uniform grants for BHS families still available
Friday, August 12th, 2016 | Posted in Blog
Over the past six weeks, we’ve been working hard to reach parents made redundant by the BHS closures, to offer funding towards their children’s school uniform and essential items.
With the help of BHS store managers, social media and Drapers, word about our fast track uniform grants has spread and we have already provided uniforms for more than 100 children - with more applications still in progress.
During a recent store visit to the Oxford Street store, one worker told us, “This is a devastating situation for many families and any help is good, so please carry on doing what you’re doing.”
Funding is still available, so if you know anyone who works or previously worked for BHS (or Austin Reed) please share this information with them.
How to apply
Employees can apply for a grant of £150 (per child) to use for school uniform and shoes for the new school year.
To apply, fill in this simple application form* and email it to us with the following THREE documents in attachments:
- A copy of your P45 OR a redundancy notification letter from employer (dated 2016)
- A copy of your P60 for 2014/2015 or a letter from employer confirming the length or your employment (must be at least one year)
- Photocopies of a Child Benefit letter or a recent (within the last three months) bank statement showing Child Benefit payment into your account.
REGRETFULLY, WITHOUT THESE DOCUMENTS WE ARE UNABLE TO PROGRESS YOUR APPLICATION.
Our main grant criteria still applies, but we have simplified the supporting evidence you need.
