This week the FTCT stand was back at the Textile Forum, London’s premier fashion fabric show. Hosted at the luxurious venue One Marylebone and organised by Linda Laderman (FTCT Ambassador), this was our fifth year as chosen charity for the show.

Why are tradeshows relevant for FTCT?

Trade shows like Textile Forum, offer us the chance to meet face-to-face with employees and employers from across the industry. Watch this short video of Jo, founder of Ruby Moon Swimwear, who met FTCT at Textile Forum 3 years ago. Jo passed our details on to a friend who, as a single parent, was experiencing financial difficulties following a challenging period.

Visitors at this year’s show were asked to make Duncan-bag winnera donation in exchange for a cuppa and delicious flapjacks and brownies made by the talented Sally Boyce. In conjunction with our fabulous raffle, we raised over £500!

Raffle winners included, Jacqui O’Donnel who claimed the beauty hamper, Ekaterina from Chrisanne who was our champagne winner and Duncan from Platinum Bridal Fabrics (pictured) who walked away with the coveted Longchamp bag.

A special mention to our brilliant volunteers, Amy, Lauren, Lydia and Mami who are studying fashion marketing at the University of Winchester. The girls approached us to help at the show, as part of their volunteering course module. They did a fantastic job, selling raffle tickets, topping up refreshments and giving out info about FTCT. Hopefully they will join us again at another event, soon!

Thank you to Linda for supporting FTCT, and to Ekaterina-champagne winnerall those who donated over the two day show. ALL the money raised will go directly to children we support, children like Mia.

Don’t forget, whether you are a current or previous employee of a large high street retailer, a small manufacturer, a supplier, or sole trader – we’re on hand to help.

Getting help from FTCT is really simple- all you need to do is give us a call on 0300 123 9002 or email grants@ftct.org.uk
