Event Details:

  • Sunday 4 September 2022
  • 3 places available
  • Deadline to apply, Friday 3rd June

This is a first time event for us and we are looking for three enthusiastic runners to take part and raise funds to help vulnerable children and young people across the UK.

Your Big Half experience

You'll start your Big Half journey at the iconic Tower Bridge accompanied by 11,000 other runners. Along the route you'll pass through the four host boroughs of Greenwich, Lewisham, Southwark and Tower Hamlets before finishing alongside the historic Cutty Sark in Greenwich. Crowds and supporters will cheer you along the way, including your own FTCT supporter team there to celebrate with you at the finish line.

Team FTCT perks

  • A branded running vest for training and the big day.
  • Support and guidance on fundraising ideas and setting up your fundraising page.
  • Support and encouragement along your training and fundraising journey.
  • Access to a closed group of other FTCT runners to share the experience with.

Never fundraised before? Don't worry, we are here to support you along the way. Fundraiser Chloe had never supported a charity before, but managed to raise £600 through her sponsored 5k walk. Read Chloe's story here.

5 reasons to run for our charity

  • Raise funds to help vulnerable children: The difference your fundraising can make is lifechanging for the young people we support. As a small charity, we keep our running costs low, meaning your hard earned money goes directly to helping children and young people. Why not read some of their stories here.
  • Raise awareness of our charity: Every time someone shares our details with a friend or colleague, we are one step closer to helping another child in need. By posting on social media about your run for FTCT, you'll be helping us to reach another family and child, living without life's essentials.
  • Support families in times of need: It is tough for many parents in the UK right now and many are living without basic items like washing machines, comfortable beds and working cookers. Without these items children miss vital sleep, families are unable to prepare decent meals, and they have to pay a premium to do their laundry. This is where our grants can make a huge difference and with your help, we could fund many more.
  • Improve your health & wellbeing: Whether you are running for fun or to boost your overall fitness levels, the Big Half is a great opportunity to reach your goal, whatever that may be.
  • Do something differentFundraising for our charity opens up a world of opportunities to do something different, tackle new challenges, have new experiences and meet new people.

Your commitment to us

Places are limited, so each runner needs to be passionate and enthusiastic about raising funds for our charity, as well as running (or walking) the race.

Here's what we ask from our runners:

  • Commitment to running the event which takes place on Sunday 4th September 2022.
  • Commitment to raise £450.

    Why?
This is the average small grant we give to children. It could buy another young person a new bed, mattress and comfy duvet, giving them a much needed good night's sleep. Children like Yousef and Amerah. Read their story.

We'd love to receive your application! To apply click on the enquire button below. Why not share this with a friend and run as a team.
