Leading shoe retailer Pavers’ charitable trust, Pavers Foundation, has donated £7,500 to the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust (FTCT). This is the second donation the Pavers Foundation have made to the Drapers x FTCT Covid Appeal, after Graham Paver, Trustee of the Foundation, nominated the charity to receive the funding.

The Pavers Foundation was established to share Pavers success through charitable giving to causes close to the hearts of its 1,400-strong staff.

Speaking about the donation Graham Paver said; “The Pavers Foundation is dedicated to offer its support more than ever during the current pandemic. Like many other charities we have had to dramatically transform the way we operate, however, we remain fully committed to continue the excellent work we have achieved so far in our three core funding themes of health, education and community making a difference to as many peoples lives as possible”.

During the pandemic our grants have supported more than 1000 children with just over £500,000 and funded more than 2800 essentials items for children of UK fashion and textile employees.

Marking a year since the start of the lockdown, FTCT’s Chief Executive Anna Pangbourne, commented: “We are delighted to have received a donation of £7,500 from the Pavers Foundation and incredibly grateful to Graham for making this generous donation to our charity. Our two organisations share a determination to empower families and communities to be the best they can be, so it’s an honour to receive their support again this year.”

The donation of £7,500 will enable the charity to provide grants that will pay for 30 beds with bedding for children who don't have their own space to sleep, or is equivalent to purchasing 30 washing machines to allow families to wash their children’s clothes. A parent who has recently received a grant for their child told FTCT:

“The FTCT Grant was granted for my son last November at a time when I needed help due to financial difficulties. I asked for financial support towards buying warm clothes, a bed, a  laptop and a printer to help with my son home learning. I do want to say that your organisation has given me and my son the support at a crucial time during this pandemic.”
