As a charity dedicated to supporting families in need, we recently conducted a survey among our newsletter subscribers, all of whom are families who have either received one of our grants or are considering applying for one.

We asked a simple yet profound question: What’s worrying you most right now?

Out of the 36 respondents, here’s what we found:

  • 50%  are worried about paying their bills this month
  • 39% worrying if they can afford everything their child needs
  • 11% worried about other issues including health issues and planning for the future

These findings highlight the challenges many families are dealing with right now.

Studies by organisations like the Joseph Rowntree Foundation show many families are struggling with money, unable to cover basic costs like rent and food. 4.2 million (or nearly 3 in 10) children in the UK live in Poverty.*

Our own data supports this. Between June 2022 and July 2023, 60% of families who asked for our help were behind on bills.

FTCT understand these challenges and we’re here to help. Our grants offer financial support for things like children’s clothing, bedroom furniture, and essential appliances like working cookers, giving families a bit of breathing room. More information on what we fund

If you or someone you know is struggling to make ends meet, please know you are not alone and there is support out there.
