Applying for a grant is a two-step process:

Step 1: Complete a short enquiry form- this will help us to understand whether you meet our criteria.

Step 2: If you meet our criteria, you will be emailed our full application form to complete and you will be asked to provide proof of your fashion and textile employment, plus a recent bank statement to show household income and expenditure.

TIP: It is a good idea to gather all the supporting documents we require BEFORE you apply.

Supporting documents explained

This video guides you through the documents you need to provide as part of your application and how to upload them to the application form. More guidance on supporting documents

How long will it take?

Once you’ve submitted your application form and uploaded all your supporting documents, we can start working on your application. It typically takes around 10 weeks for us to process an application, however in times of high demand it can take longer. We will keep in touch throughout the process.

Before you apply

Check your employer meets our criteria
If your employer is not on our qualifying list your application may be rejected. If you are self employed or can't see your employer listed, but think it falls under fashion and textiles, please complete an enquiry and select Other. We will review your trade connection and contact you, if you are rejected incorrectly. Check our list of qualifying employers.

Have your child received a grant from us before? If we have helped your children before, you will need to wait 12 months since your last grant was awarded before you apply again. We will need to check your grant Terms & Condition's were met on your last grant before responding. Please complete an enquiry form and our grants team will contact you within 3 days of your form being submitted. Guidance on applying again.

Addiction/Gambling- FTCT are unable to award a grant to anyone considered to be in active addiction, as this activity will be contributing towards financial difficulties.

This includes where we can identify transactions on your bank statements showing significant household income spent on gambling. We consider you responsible for all transactions showing on statements in your name/partner’s name.
