Last Saturday, Corinna (centre of photo) from Blue I Studio, London, hosted a fabric sale on behalf of FTCT. If you work in a fabric / textile company, please read on - this is such an inspiring way to raise money for FTCT!

FTCT had recently been spotted at the Textile Forum, the chosen charity for the show. After reading more about us, Corinna got in touch to let us know that she would be hosting a fabric sale, with offcuts and remnants from Blue I Studio. As with many companies, these would usually end up in the bin, but with Corinna's vision and determination, she saw this could be turned into a fundraiser for our charity. In the weeks leading up to the sale, the event was promoted on GumtreeStreetlife and universities too. (With fabric at £3 / metre instead of £10 /metre, great value for all!). With her colleagues, Eva (left), Margo (back) and Oksana (right), the sale room was prepared the night before. Lots of gorgeous fabrics were tied into 1kg bundles, tied with ribbon and an FTCT poster attached to each. Corrina told FTCT: "I'm very close to my own family, so when I read some of the FTCT case studies about children that had been supported, it made me realise that life can change very quickly, so if people in the industry can help others in our industry, it’s so worthwhile. I'm never going to run a Marathon, but this was something I could do".

Anna, director, FTCT commented: "Stories like these show the difference that Corinna and colleagues from Blue I Studio can make to the children of those that work in the UK fashion and textile industry. Meeting Corinna was so inspiring - we'd love other companies to get in touch. Huge thanks to Corinna and her colleagues for organising this event!"

If you work for a fabric or textile company or manufacturer that has off-cuts, don't bin them! We can help you set up your own fabric or textile sale, just like Corinna and raise money for children who need a helping hand. Every pound raised by Corinna and her colleagues will go directly towards helping children whose parents work in our industry.
