Data released today by the Department for Work and Pensions show at least one out of every six children in the UK lives in relative poverty, which is why charities like FTCT play such an important role in providing immediate funding for clothing, bedding, school uniform or school bus fare, while the family finds a long term solution for their financial struggles.

According to the BBC, in 2011-2012 2.3 million UK children (17%) lived in homes with substantially lower than average income. This rises to 27% (3.5 million) if measured after housing costs are paid.

Our aim is that no child’s future should be negatively impacted by changes to their parents financial situation. We hope our grants can help to make this a reality for the children of those working in our sector.

If you or someone you know works in any aspect of fashion and textiles and is struggling to afford basic items for their child, please get in touch. Getting help from FTCT is really easy, all you have to do is give us a call.
