“When we got approved for the grant I couldn’t believe it happened to us.  I was over the moon! I have received the money within few days and was able to furnish my child's room properly.” 

After leaving an abusive relationship, we were glad to help this family set up a new study space, just in time for the summer exams. To protect identities, the following story has been anonymised, but all the words are all the parents own. 

“I applied for a grant after separating from my partner , who was abusive (mentally and physically).” 

“Together with my 16 year old I had to start my life over again. I became a single parent with all struggles that comes with it, it was quite challenging at time. But as I always say- always a lesson, never a regret.” 

“My child didn’t have a bed, just a mattress on the floor, no wardrobe, no desk and no laptop (so much needed before their GCSE exams).” 

“After hearing about the FTCT through a colleague at work, I decided to apply.”
