About the event:

Drapers is THE trade magazine for the fashion retail industry. This prestigious lunchtime awards ceremony will celebrate the UK and Ireland’s most innovative fashion independent retailers.

Over the past 5 years the Drapers Awards have helped us raise over £100,000, providing thousands of essential items for children of UK fashion and textile families. Visit the event website here.

Why volunteer at this event? 

This is a great opportunity for outgoing and professional volunteers who want to gain customer service experience for their CV and get an insight into the fashion/event industry. 

We also welcome volunteers who are passionate about our charity and simply want to help children living in financial distress. 

This is a popular event and volunteer spaces fill up fast.

Skills needed

1. Over 16 years (sorry)
2. Confidence and ease talking to new people
3. Ability to work on your feet for approx 4 hours
4. Enthusiasm for our charity
5. Reliable and punctual
6. Ability to adapt and get stuck in

Key tasks will include: 

• Talking to guests about the charity
• Assisting guests with card and cash donations
• Answering guest questions about prizes and fundraising draws
• Collecting funds for counting at the end of dinner 
• Representing the charity in a professional manner

The event involves LOTS of walking, so comfy shoes are a must! You'll be walking between tables across the event venue, assisting the 400+ guests with donations and answering questions about our charity.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is based in central London. Volunteers would need to be available from 12noon-5pm. Volunteer travel expenses can be refunded, up to the value of a Zones 1-6 travel card (approx £12).
