Our grants help families working in the UK fashion and textile industry who are struggling financially due to a sudden loss of income or change in family circumstances. 

We can only help families who have 12 months or more employment history at a UK fashion or textile company, within the last 9 years. Find out more about our trade criteria

Who can apply?

To apply for a grant, you must be the parent or carer of a child (aged 0- 18 years) AND work OR have recently worked in the UK fashion and textile industry. This work must have been for at least one year within the last nine years. 

NOTE: During application stage you will be asked to provide proof of your fashion and textile employment, in the form of payslips or other tax documents.

If you have never worked for a UK fashion or textile company, unfortunately we won't be the right charity for you. Please try this list of other charities who might be able to help your family. 

Your financial situation

Our grants support families who are struggling financially. This might be due to a sudden loss of income or change in family circumstances. 

Parents usually apply if they are facing one of the following situations:

  • You are in arrears with your household bills, have debt issues
  • You are caring for a child or family member with ill health or additional needs
  • You have been made redundant
  • Your employer has reduced your contracted hours of work
  • You have recently suffered a relationship breakdown, separation or divorce 
  • You are signed off work sick or have a long term illness
  • You are facing homelessness or have recently had to move home
  • You are a kinship carer
  • You have suffered the bereavement of a close family member

NOTE: During application you will be asked to provide a recent bank statement, to show household income and expenditure, as well as child benefit and all other benefits the family receive.

What we fund

We fund everything children need for nursery, school and college, including: 

  • School Uniform 
  • PE Kit
  • Footwear
  • General clothing 
  • Study Essentials (e.g. schoolbag, stationery, books, etc)
  • Course equipment (e.g to support vocational courses)
  • Laptop for homework (if they are in secondary education and have no access to a home computer)
  • Specialist educational tools: If your child has additional educational needs and could benefit form specialist educational tools we can support with this too.  Find out more

We have capped amounts for most items. Amounts awarded are at the discretion of the charity.
