Refer a family

A family sit with their social worker on the sofa at home.

We always welcome referrals from employers, charities, health professionals and even friends. We generally prefer to work directly with the family, but understand there are situations where this is not possible.

If you are a health or social care professional, we advise that you contact our grants team first, if you intent to apply on behalf of a family.

Otherwise, please share this page with the family and ask them to get in touch with us using the links below.

Who can apply?

If you would like to refer a family for an FTCT grant, there is some important information you need to know first:

  • Grants are only available for children (18 years and under) whose parent or full-time carer works in the UK fashion and textile industry.

  • The parent must have worked in the industry for at least one year, within the last nine years.

  • The parent must be able to prove they are receiving child benefit for the child who needs a grant.

If the family fits this criteria, please share this page or visit the grant section using the green button below.

Start Applying Today

For health and social care professionals wishing to make an application on behalf of a family, please email our grants team on [email protected] for more information.

What if the family doesn't work in fashion and textiles?

Unfortunately, we can only help families where one or more parent has worked in the UK fashion and textile industry. If you're not sure they have worked in fashion and textiles, please check what we mean by fashion and textiles before deciding they can't apply.

Not sure?

If you're still unsure about the families employment connection to fashion and textiles, please contact our grants team for more guidance.

Other charities who could help

If the family definitely doesn't meet our criteria, there are other organisations who could help. Even if we can't help this family, please don't forget about us. Share this page and tell your colleagues about FTCT grants. You might meet another very family soon who could apply.
